    3 lbs. pork, cut in small pieces
    2 (10 oz each) cans tomatoes with chilies
    1 (12 oz) can tomato sauce
    ⅛ tsp. garlic powder
    salt and pepper, to taste
    1 c. rice
    1 c. shredded cheddar cheese
    refried beans, for serving


    1. Brown pork in a large saucepan or Dutch oven. Stir in canned tomatoes, tomato sauce, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Simmer for 1 hour or until meat is tender.
    2. Meanwhile, prepare rice. Place on a serving plate.
    3. Top rice with meat sauce. Sprinkle with cheese.
    4. Serve refried beans as a side dish, if desired.
