Fourth of July Garbanzo Bean Burgers

2 c. pre-cooked or canned garbanzo beans, drained and mashed | ||
1 celery, finely chopped | ||
1 carrot, peeled and finely chopped | ||
¼ c. finely chopped onion | ||
¼ c. whole wheat flour | ||
salt and pepper, to taste | ||
2 tsp. vegetable oil | ||
tomato sauce, ketchup or barbecue sauce, for serving |
Directions
- Mix mashed garbanzo beans, celery, carrot, onion, wheat flour, salt and pepper together. Form into 6 flat patties.
- Place oil in pan and cook patties over medium-high heat until burgers are golden brown.
- Turn burgers over and fry on the other side until done.
- Serve alone or with tomato sauce, ketchup or barbecue sauce.
