Overnight French Toast

1 tbsp. light or dark corn syrup
½ c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 loaves French bread, cut in 2-inch slices
5 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 ½ c. milk
¼ tsp. salt

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, combine corn syrup, butter and brown sugar. Simmer until syrupy.
  2. Pour into 9-by-13-inch baking pan. Arrange bread slices on top.
  3. In mixing bowl, beat together eggs, vanilla, milk and salt. Pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  4. The next morning, uncover pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
