2 Hy-Vee eggs
½ c. Hy-Vee nonfat milk
1 tsp. Hy-Vee Dijon mustard
4 oz. Havarti cheese, sliced
4 slice(s) Hy-Vee wheat or white bread
2 tbsp. unsalted butter
Currant jelly, optional

Directions

  1. Beat eggs, milk, mustard and salt to taste together in large shallow bowl. Set aside. Place Havarti on 2 bread slices. Top with remaining bread.
  2. Melt butter in large skillet. Gently dip assembled Havarti-stuffed bread into egg mixture, 1 side at a time. Ease bread into skillet.
  3. Cook over medium heat 3 to 5 minutes per side or until golden brown. Cut into quarters and serve with currant jelly, if desired.
