    Description

Freshly grilled donuts take center stage in these decadent treats. Prep and freeze ice cream ahead of time so it's ready for assembly when the donuts come off the grill. Need something to wash these delicious desserts down? Try pairing with a Belgian Tripel beer or Oaked Chardonnay wine.

    Things To Grab

    • Kitchen shears
    • 3-1/2-inch-diameter round cutter
    • Plastic wrap
    • Charcoal or gas grill

    Directions

    1. Select your flavor variety. Using kitchen shears, cut side and bottom of ice cream container to release ice cream. For each sandwich, using a sharp knife, cut a 3/4-inch-thick slice of ice cream. Using a 3-1/2-inch-diameter round cutter, cut out ice cream. Wrap cutout in plastic wrap and freeze at least 2 hours or until firm. Repeat for remaining 5 sandwiches

    2. Just before serving, prepare a charcoal or gas grill for direct grilling over medium-high heat.

    3. Cut each donut in half horizontally. Place donuts, cut-sides down, on grill for 30 seconds to 1 minute or until toasted. Flip donuts and grill for 30 seconds to 1 minute more or until toasted.

    4. Fill each warm donut with a frozen ice cream cutout. Dip ice cream edges into candy and serve immediately.
