Best Caramel Bars

32 caramels, unwrapped | ||
5 tbsp. light cream | ||
2 c. flour | ||
2 c. uncooked Quaker quick-cooking oats | ||
1 ½ c. brown sugar | ||
1 tsp. baking soda | ||
½ tsp. salt | ||
1 ½ c. butter, melted | ||
2 c. chocolate chips | ||
½ c. chopped pecans |
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave caramels and cream until caramels are melted. Stir together and set aside.
- Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, salt and melted butter until crumbly. Press half into an ungreased 12-by-15-inch rimmed baking sheet. Reserve other half of oatmeal mixture for topping.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans over crust. Spread warm caramel over chocolate chips and pecans. Crumble remaining oatmeal mixture on top.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
