    12 thin slices demi-loaf Hy-Vee Baking Stone Bread
    2 apples, variety of your choice, cored and thinly sliced into approximately 24 pieces
    24 thin slices Cabot 50% Reduced-Fat Sharp Cheddar Cheese
    ½ c. walnut pieces


    1. Preheat broiler. Arrange bread on baking sheet and toast lightly on both sides under broiler.
    2. Remove from broiler and place about two apple slices on each toast. Top with a thin slice of cheese. Sprinkle walnut pieces into cheese. Top with a second thin slice of cheese.
    3. Return to broiler until cheese melts and is lightly browned.
    4. For a brunch or appetizer wine suggestion, pair with Sauvignon Blanc.
