    2 cloves garlic, minced
    ½ tsp. Hy-Vee Dijon mustard
    ½ tsp. bottled hot pepper sauce
    4 ½ c. Hy-Vee shredded sharp cheddar cheese
    2 ½ tbsp. Hy-Vee cornstarch
    Rye or Italian bread cubes, optional
    Granny Smith apple slices, optional

      Directions

      1. In a medium saucepan, heat beer over medium heat just until boiling; stir in garlic, mustard and hot pepper sauce.
      2. In a bowl, toss cheese with cornstarch. Slowly add to beer mixture, stirring. Continue stirring until mixture is smooth and thick, about 4 to 6 minutes total.
      3. Serve with bread cubes and apple slices.
