    1 (29 oz) can Hy-Vee sauerkraut
    ½ c. chopped green pepper
    ½ c. chopped celery
    ½ c. chopped onion
    1 small jar pimientos, chopped
    1 ½ c. sugar
    ¾ c. white vinegar
    1 tbsp. celery seed, optional

    Directions

    1. Combine sauerkraut, green pepper, celery, onions and pimientos in large bowl. Set aside.
    2. In saucepan, combine sugar, vinegar and celery seed (if desired). Bring to a boil over medium heat.
    3. Boil mixture 5 minutes. Let cool.
    4. Pour over sauerkraut mixture.
    5. Refrigerate several hours before serving. Can be stored in refrigerator up to a week.
