Servings and Ingredients

Ingredients
Serves 2
QuantityIngredientAdd
1 tbsp. fresh rosemary, finely chopped
1 tbsp. fresh thyme, finely chopped, plus additional sprigs for garnish
2 clove(s) garlic, minced
1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
3 tbsp. Gustare Vita olive oil, divided
1 (14-to-16-oz.) T-bone steak
½ tsp. Hy-Vee kosher sea salt
½ tsp. Hy-Vee coarsely cracked black pepper

Things To Grab

  • Large plate or serving platter
  • 10-inch cast iron skillet
  • Aluminum foil

Directions

  1. Add rosemary, thyme, garlic, lemon juice, and 2 tablespoons olive oil to a large plate or serving platter. Gently mix with a fork and set aside. Pat steak dry with paper towels. Season steak on both sides with salt and pepper.

  2. Add remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil to a 10-inch cast iron skillet; place over medium heat.

  3. Add steak to hot cast iron. Sear 10 minutes, flipping once halfway through, or until steak is deeply browned and desired doneness is reached, 130 degrees for medium-rare and 145 degrees for medium. Remove steak from cast iron and place onto seasoned plate. Allow steak to rest on top of seasonings for 5 minutes tented with foil. Flip steak and allow to rest for an additional 5 minutes tented with foil.

  4. When ready to serve, cut steak from bone and carve into 1/2-inch slices. Garnish with fresh thyme, if desired.
