    Description

The cream sauce on these steaks is about as good as it gets. But don't let that stop you from adding fresh herbs and other seasonings to put your own spin on it. Fresh basil, thyme, and oregano work well.

    Things To Grab

    • Large skillet
    • Charcoal or gas grill
    • Meat thermometer

    Directions

    1. Make Creamed Mushrooms and Onions: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add mushrooms, green onions and fresh minced garlic. Cook until green onions are softened and garlic is aromatic. Add heavy whipping cream. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes or until sauce like consistency. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Cover and keep warm.

    2. Trim fat from steaks; let stand at room temperature for 15 minutes. Prepare a charcoal or gas grill for direct cooking over medium-high heat.
    3. Rub steaks with olive oil and season to taste. Grill steaks for 10 to 12 minutes for medium-rare (130 degrees) or 12 to 15 minutes for medium (140 degrees), turning once halfway through. Remove steaks from grill and let rest for 10 minutes. Serve topped with Creamed Mushrooms and Onions.
