2 c. flour
½ c. baking cocoa
1 ½ tsp. baking soda
1 c. cold water
1 ½ c. sugar
¼ tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
¾ c. salad dressing
1 egg


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9-by-13-inch baking pan, or 24 to 30 cupcake holders.
  2. Beat together flour, cocoa, baking powder, water, sugar, salt, vanilla, salad dressing and egg. Pour into prepare pan or muffin cups.
  3. Bake for 25 minutes for cake or 15 minutes for cupcakes.
