6 tbsp. Hy-Vee unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp. Hy-Vee vanilla extract
2 ½ c. Hy-Vee milk chocolate baking chips, divided
2 tbsp. Hy-Vee refined coconut oil
1 (1.5-oz.) tube Over The Top wispy white ready-to-use write-on gel

  • 2-1/2-in. heart-shaped cookie cutter
  • Medium microwave-safe bowl

Directions

  1. Line an 8-in. square baking dish with parchment paper.

  2. Combine almond flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar and salt in a medium mixing bowl. Add butter and vanilla extract; mix well. Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips.

  3. Press dough mixture evenly into prepared baking dish. Cover and refrigerate for 1 to 1-1/2 hours or until firm.

  4. Line a medium cutting board with parchment paper. Remove dough mixture from baking dish. Cut out 9 hearts using a 2-1/2-in. heart-shaped cookie cutter. Place hearts on prepared cutting board. Press together dough scraps, pat into an even layer and cut 1 additional heart. Freeze hearts on cutting board for at least 30 minutes up to 4 hours.

  5. Microwave remaining 1-1/2 cups chocolate chips and coconut oil in a medium microwave-safe bowl on HIGH for 1-1/2 to 2 minutes or until melted and smooth when stirred, stirring every 15 seconds.

  6. Drizzle melted chocolate over hearts, spreading carefully with back of spoon to completely cover. Freeze an additional 15 minutes or until chocolate is set.

  7. Write various designs or messages on chocolate-covered hearts using write-on gel. Store in refrigerator for up to 3 days.
