    1 c. sugar
    1 c. dark corn syrup
    4 tsp. baking soda
    1 packet(s) chocolate, for dipping


    1. In a very large saucepan, combine sugar and syrup. Bring to boil just until sugar dissolves, stirring constantly.
    2. Cook without stirring to 305 degrees or hard-crack stage. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda.
    3. Spread mixture in 9x18-inch pan; allow to cool. Break into pieces; dip into chocolate. Place on waxed paper to dry. Store in airtight container.
