    4 c. milk, scalded
    3 packet(s) dry yeast
    ¾ c. eggs
    6 ¾ tbsp. sugar
    1 ½ tbsp. salt
    1 ¼ c. soft shortening
    13 c. flour

    Directions

    1. Allow scalded milk to cool until warm. Dissolve yeast in warm milk.
    2. Beat together eggs, sugar and salt. Stir in yeast/milk mixture, salt, shortening and flour. Knead on a lightly floured surface. Cover with a tea towel and let rise for 2 hours.
    3. Punch down and let rise 10 minutes. Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with round cutter. Fold dough over and pinch together.
    4. Place rolls on greased cookie sheet. Let rise. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped on the bottom.
