    1 ½ c. Hy-Vee all-purpose flour
½ c. Hershey's special dark chocolate baking cocoa powder

    Things To Grab

    • Small bowl
    • Pastry blender
    • Fork
    • Rolling pin
    • 8-or-9-inch pie plate

    Directions

    1. Make Dusting Mixture: In a small bowl, thoroughly combine cocoa powder and flour. Set aside.

    2. In a large bowl, stir together flour, dark cocoa, sugar, and salt. Using a pastry blender, cut in butter until pieces are pea sized.

    3. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon ice water over part of the flour mixture; gently toss with a fork. Push moistened dough to side of bowl. Repeat with additional ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until all of the flour mixture is moistened.

    4. Sprinkle dusting mixture on a clean work surface. Add dough to work surface and sprinkle with additional dusting mixture. Roll pastry from the center to the edge, working to create a thin circle. Ease pastry circle into an 8-or-9-inch pie plate. Trim pie dough to hang 1-to-2-inches over the sides. Crimp edges as desired.

    5. Fill pie pastry with desired filling and prepare according to recipe instructions.

      Hyvee Culinary Expert Tip
For an easy and delicious chocolate cherry pie, preheat oven to 375 degrees. Fill pie crust with 2 (21-oz. each) cans Hy-Vee cherry fruit filling. Bake for 15 minutes at 375 degrees, reduce oven heat to 350 degrees and bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until filling is bubbling and crust is cooked through. Cool completely; chill at least 2 hours before serving.
