Chocolate Walnut Gelato
Servings and Ingredients
|3 c. water|
|¼ c. sugar|
|¼ c. granulated stevia|
|¼ c. unsweetened cocoa powder|
|3 oz. dark chocolate, finely chopped|
|1 tbsp. orange zest|
|1 c. walnuts, finely chopped, toasted|
- In a saucepan, bring water, sugar, stevia and cocoa powder to a boil, whisking constantly. Reduce heat and simmer until sugar is completely dissolved and cocoa is well blended.
- Remove from heat and stir in dark chocolate pieces until melted. Let cool completely.
- Stir in zest and walnuts. Spoon chocolate into a shallow metal pan; freeze until almost firm (about 3 hours).
- Break into chunks; puree in food processor or blender. Pack into airtight container and freeze until firm.
