    ¾ c. Crisco shortening
    ¾ c. butter, softened
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    5 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. salt


    1. Cream shortening, butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla in large bowl.
    2. In separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt.
    3. Blend the two mixtures together with an electric mixer until mixed well.
    4. Cover bowl and refrigerate 1 hour to overnight.
    5. Roll out dough on a floured surface and cut out cookies with favorite cookie cutter shapes.
    6. Place cut-outs on cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes or until browned around the edges.
    7. Cool cookies on waxed paper. Frost and decorate cookies, or freeze the cookies to frost and decorate when needed. Cookies are delicious even without frosting!
