    QuantityIngredientAdd
½ (17.3-oz) pkg. frozen puff pastry, (one sheet), thawed
½ c. Hy-Vee shredded sharp Cheddar cheese, divided
    3 (1-oz) pieces Hy-Vee low-moisture part-skim mozzarella string cheese

    Things To Grab

    • 2 baking sheets
    • Parchment paper
    • Rolling pin

    Directions

    1. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper; set aside.

    2. Sprinkle 1/4-cup Cheddar cheese on a work surface. Place puff pastry on top of cheese. Sprinkle 1/4-cup cheese on puff pastry. Roll pastry into a 14x12-inch rectangle, pressing cheese into pastry. Cut pastry crosswise into 12 strips.

    3. Cut string cheese lengthwise into quarters. Halve each cheese quarter lengthwise to form eight sections; 24 cheese pieces total.

    4. Lay 2 string cheese sections in the center of each puff pastry strip. Press pastry edges together to seal around cheese. Using a rolling pin, roll and press stuffed pastry strips to flatten. Holding both ends, twist each strip in opposite direction. Place strips 1-inch apart on prepared baking sheets, pressing down ends. Refrigerate 30 minutes.

    5. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden and crisp. Transfer to a wire rack; cool.
