Directions
Add remaining 3 Tbsp. butter to skillet; melt over medium-low to medium heat. Add onions. Cook, uncovered, for 30 to 35 minutes or until onions are lightly brown and begin to caramelize, stirring occasionally.
Sprinkle flour over onions; stir to coat. Cook and stir for 1 minute or until flour is combined. Slowly pour broth into the skillet. Cook, uncovered, for 8 to 10 minutes or until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally.
Return meatballs to skillet with onion mixture; sprinkle with cheese. Cover and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Meanwhile, prepare mashed potatoes and green beans according to pkg. directions.
To serve, top mashed potatoes with meatballs. Serve with green beans. Garnish with fresh thyme, if desired.
