One of our favorite and easiest pasta bakes, this simple Cavatelli can be customized to your liking with a variety of different cheeses or vegetables.
Servings and Ingredients
|1 (13.25 oz) box Hy-Vee whole wheat rotini pasta|
|1 (24 oz) jar Hy-Vee pasta sauce, divided|
|1 (8 oz) pkg Hy-Vee finely shredded mozzarella cheese, divided|
|1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped|
|1 yellow onion, chopped|
|¼ c. chopped Hy-Vee pepperoni|
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cook pasta according to package directions, drain and pour into a greased 9-by-13-inch baking dish. Stir in half the jar of pasta sauce and half the bag of mozzarella cheese.
- Saute pepper and onion to soften, about 5 minutes; stir in pepperoni and add to pasta in baking dish. Pour remaining 1/2 jar pasta sauce over pasta and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
- Bake, uncovered, 30 minutes or until heated through and cheese melts.
