    Serves 8
    6 pasteurized eggs
    1 c. superfine sugar
    1 tbsp. Hy-Vee vanilla extract
    ¼ tsp. allspice
    5 c. Hy-Vee whole milk
    1 c. heavy whipping cream
    Grated nutmeg, for garnish


    1. Beat eggs. Whisk in sugar, vanilla and allspice. Stir in milk and cream. Chill until ready to serve. Garnish with grated nutmeg.
    2. Note: If pasteurized eggs are unavailable, make eggs food-safe by cooking them with sugar and milk in a heavy saucepan over medium heat until the mixture coats a metal spoon. Cool quickly by placing the pan in a sink filled with ice water, stirring at least 2 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving.
