Servings and Ingredients
|6 pasteurized eggs|
|1 c. superfine sugar|
|1 tbsp. Hy-Vee vanilla extract|
|¼ tsp. allspice|
|5 c. Hy-Vee whole milk|
|1 c. heavy whipping cream|
|Grated nutmeg, for garnish|
- Beat eggs. Whisk in sugar, vanilla and allspice. Stir in milk and cream. Chill until ready to serve. Garnish with grated nutmeg.
- Note: If pasteurized eggs are unavailable, make eggs food-safe by cooking them with sugar and milk in a heavy saucepan over medium heat until the mixture coats a metal spoon. Cool quickly by placing the pan in a sink filled with ice water, stirring at least 2 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving.
