Muddle sugar, bitters and 1 orange slice at the bottom of an old fashioned glass. Fill with ice and whiskey; stir. Garnish with a cherry and remaining orange slice.

An Old Fashioned is only as good as the whiskey, bourbon, or brandy you use. For an Irish version, we used Finagren's Irish Whiskey. It has a soft, fruity-yet-dry medium body that blends beautifully in this drink. Look for it in the Wine and Spirits Department at Hy-Vee.
