WASHINGTON, Iowa (May 12, 2026) — The helpful smile of a Washington Hy-Vee employee is now featured on the side of a semi-trailer to honor his 48 years of service to the company.
Bill Baker’s picture was unveiled Tuesday morning during a celebration outside the Washington Hy-Vee where he serves as dairy manager.
Baker started at the Washington Hy-Vee in 1978 at the age of 16 and grew his career at the same store, taking on a variety of roles over the years. He said he is proud to serve the people of his hometown.
Hy-Vee first started featuring long-serving employees on semi-truck wraps in 1997, and it has since become a cherished tradition.
