COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (Aug. 11, 2026) — The helpful smile of a longtime Hy-Vee employee is now featured on the side of a semi-trailer to honor the more than 40 years of service he has dedicated to the company.
Mitch Streit’s picture was unveiled Tuesday during a celebration at the Madison Avenue Hy-Vee in Council Bluffs, where he once served as store director. Streit recently retired from his role as vice president of Hy-Vee Inc. and president of Hy-Vee subsidiary D&D Foods.
Streit was joined on Tuesday by family, friends and co-workers, including several family members who have also been co-workers. The Streit family has a long legacy of service to Hy-Vee, including:
