MANHATTAN, Kan. (June 18, 2026) — The helpful smile of a Manhattan Hy-Vee employee is now featured on the side of a semi-trailer to honor the more than 40 years of service she has dedicated to the company.

Patti Grotzinger’s picture was unveiled Thursday during a celebration at the Manhattan Hy-Vee, where Grotzinger serves as floral department manager.

Grotzinger first joined Hy-Vee in 1985 in Fairmont, Minn., where she served in a variety of roles for nearly 30 years. Grotzinger found her true passion once she moved to the floral department.

“Everybody liked the way I designed the bouquets,” Gortzinger said. “They’re like, ‘You’re a natural!’”

Grotzinger has worked at the Manhattan Hy-Vee since 2013 and enjoys the creativity that she can apply to her work.

Hy-Vee first started featuring long-serving employees on semi-truck wraps in 1997, and it has since become a cherished tradition at the company.
