Hy-Vee Voluntarily Recalls Ready-to-Eat Entrée Because of Possible Allergen

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (Jan. 6, 2021) — Hy-Vee, Inc., based in West Des Moines, Iowa, is voluntarily recalling units of its ready-to-eat chicken enchilada entrée produced on Jan. 3, 2021, because of the possible presence of an undeclared allergen due to an incorrect label that was placed on the bottom of the container.
 
Only eleven (11) of the chicken enchilada meals have been identified as being sold across Hy-Vee’s eight-state region to date, and no illnesses have been reported in connection with these products.
 
Out of an abundance of caution, Hy-Vee is recalling the entrée produced on Jan. 3, 2021, from its stores. Impacted units are labeled with UPC Code 075450244267. All affected products have a “Best if Used By” date of Jan. 10, 2021. A photo of the affected product label is attached. No other products are affected by this recall. 

The 11 units identified as being sold were purchased at the following stores:
•    Worthington Hy-Vee                                  
•    Grand Island Hy-Vee                                  
•    Manhattan Hy-Vee                                     
•    Stony Brook Hy-Vee in Omaha                 
•    Grand Prairie Hy-Vee in Peoria                 
•    Marion Road Hy-Vee in Sioux Falls    
•    Kearney Hy-Vee

Customers who purchased the product and have concerns are being asked to discard the item or return it to their local Hy-Vee store for a full refund.
