Hy-Vee Partners with Iowa State University to Host Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing Site on Campus

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (Nov. 2, 2021) — Hy-Vee, Inc. announces today that in partnership with Iowa State University it will host a drive-thru COVID-19 testing site on the ISU campus beginning Thursday, Nov. 4. Both free lab (molecular PCR) and $119 rapid PCR testing will be available by appointment only from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday each week until further notice.
Testing will take place via an outdoor, drive-thru testing process in Lot F, west of Stephens Auditorium on the ISU campus. Testing patients should enter the drive-thru testing area from Beach Avenue onto Center Drive and follow signage on the west side of Stephens Auditorium.
Free Lab (Molecular PCR) Testing
The free lab (molecular PCR) test detects active COVID-19 infection and is currently only available to patients ages 3+. Patients ages 18+ can administer the test themselves, while testing for patients ages 3-17 should be administered by a parent or legal guardian.
Patients can begin registering for an appointment today. To register for an appointment and to receive a test voucher, visit hy-vee.com/covidtesting and select the lab test (molecular PCR) option. Patients must provide the requested information to receive a test voucher number, testing site and appointment time. Hy-Vee Pharmacy staff members will provide the test kit and education on how to self-administer the test and will supervise the test. Patients ages 3-17 must be administered the test by a parent or legal guardian. The individual will then drop off their completed kit in a collection bin.
During the testing process, patients must wear a mask and will be asked to lower it beneath their nose during the test. Results will then be sent to the individual via email in three to five days.

Patients will receive same-day test results in as few as 30 minutes (up to 1 day) after completing the test.
The test is available for $119 by appointment only. At this time, Hy-Vee is only accepting testing payment by credit or debit card at the testing site.
