Hy-Vee, Inc. is awarding $75,000 to 55 schools across its eight-state region as part of its commitment to support local communities and schools throughout the pandemic. The schools were chosen by Hy-Vee customers who were selected as winners of the Fuel Your School sweepstakes. All 55 customers won prizes up to $500 in value in addition to selecting a school to support with a monetary donation from Hy-Vee.
Fifty customers received up to $200 in prizes and $1,000 awarded to the school of their choice in Hy-Vee’s eight-state region. In addition, five grand-prize-winning customers received up to $500 in prizes and $5,000 awarded to the school of their choice in Hy-Vee’s eight-state region.
The grand prize winners of the Fuel Your School campaign include:
- Franklin Middle School, Springfield, Ill.
- Harrisburg High School, Harrisburg, S.D.
- Odessa High School, Odessa, Mo.
- St. Malachy School, Creston, Iowa
- Sunset Terrace Elementary, Rochester, Minn.
The $75,000 pledge to local schools and $12,500 in additional prizes for Hy-Vee customers contributes to Hy-Vee’s commitment to supporting teachers, students and customers in response to the pandemic.
Fuel Your School was held Jan. 1-31 where customers entered for the chance to win prizes and award a portion of Hy-Vee’s pledge to a school of their choice. In total, Hy-Vee received more than 200,000 unique entries across its eight-state region. A full list of the 55 school recipients can be found here.
