Columbus Hy-Vee Employee Honored with Picture on Truck for More Than 40 Years of Service

Bakery cake designer Holly Schmid is now featured on a semi-trailer.

COLUMBUS, Neb. (Aug. 26, 2026) — The helpful smile of a Columbus Hy-Vee employee is now featured on the side of a semi-trailer to honor the more than 40 years of service she has dedicated to the company.

Holly Schmid’s picture was unveiled Wednesday during a celebration at the Columbus Hy-Vee, where she serves as a bakery cake designer.

Hy-Vee first started featuring long-serving employees on semi-truck wraps in 1997, and it has since become a cherished tradition at the company.
