April Graff

April Graff, MS, RD, LD, received a bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato, in dietetics and Spanish and her master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in human nutritional science. April also completed her 10-month post-graduate dietetic internship through the University of Wisconsin-Stout. April is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Minnesota Dietetic Association and South Central Dietetic Association.

April enjoys providing practical solutions for helping you and your family eat healthier through simple ideas in one of the best classrooms - the grocery store aisles. She has a strong passion to help people of all ages live easier, healthier, and happier.

Shopping Assistance for Health Complimentary, 1-hour session / By appointment

Join your Hy-Vee dietitian for a scheduled aisle-by-aisle tour. During your tour, you will discover new food choices in every aisle. Take a walk through the aisles with your Hy-Vee dietitian. Find health-promoting foods that appeal to you, receive meal ideas and recipes for how to enjoy these foods and learn how to enhance your health by putting favorable foods in your shopping cart... and in your body! Topics may include shopping for:

Medical Nutrition Therapy Prices vary; 1-hour or 30-minute session / By appointment

With referral from a physician, our registered dietitian will meet with you individually to develop a personalized plan, with achievable goals, to address your nutrition-related concerns.

Community & Worksite Wellness Services Prices vary / By appointment

Our Health and Wellness team will come to your business or organization to conduct cooking classes, teach the Begin program, provide health screenings, offer immunization clinics or present a nutrition topic designed for your group's interests.

Hy-Vee Begin Program $290; group or individual sessions / By appointment

Begin is a 10-week healthy lifestyles and weight management program:

  • 1 initial visit with biometric screening
  • 7 group or individual sessions
  • 1 follow-up session including measurements
  • 1 final visit with biometric screening

HEALTH SCREENINGS

Blood Pressure Screening Complimentary, in-store or when added with another service on location

High blood pressure usually has no symptoms, but increases your risk for serious problems, including heart attack and stroke.

Cholesterol Screening $45

Measures your total, LDL and HDL cholesterol, triglycerides and blood glucose. A simple finger-prick test with results in five minutes. For accurate results, please fast for 12 hours before the test.

HERE’S HOW HY-VEE SIMPLE FIX™ WORKS.

Gather a group of 6 to 12 people interested in preparing a variety of delicious meals to eat at home later. Then you pick your meal package and schedule a date. Our helpful Hy-Vee staff will shop for all the groceries and provide the space, bowls and utensils. Because food safety is important to us, our chefs will precut and properly package any meats ahead of time. At your Hy-Vee Simple Fix™ event, your group puts together each recipe in separate freezer bags or pans. Each meal includes easy cooking instructions so you can thaw and enjoy them at your convenience.

You take home several ready-to-go dinners. We take care of cleaning up. Easy as that!

SCHEDULE YOUR HY-VEE SIMPLE FIX™ EVENT TODAY.

  1. Get a group of 6 to 12 people together.
  2. Contact your Hilltop Hy-Vee dietitian at (507) 625-9070 or [email protected] to schedule your event.
  3. Pick a date and time for your event. Coordinate a time that works with your group and give the name and e-mail address for each participant.
  4. Pick a meal package. Available menus are listed below.
  5. Pay for the cost of your groceries. Cost is $99 per person for 7 recipes. Each participant must pre-pay for the class 1 week prior at the Hilltop Hy-Vee Customer Service counter.
  6. Prepare the recipes with your friends and have fun! A cooler bag will be provided for safe transport of your meals. You are welcome to bring your own coolers and aprons.
  7. Take home your convenient ready-to-go meals to enjoy later!

Meals can be divided into smaller portions (serving 2 to 3 people each) for a total of 14 meals each. Make note of your meal size (7 or 14 meals) preference when registering.

Final registration numbers are due one week prior to the event.

Classes take approximately 1.5 hours and are held in our Hilltop Hy-Vee dining area.
