Join a Hy-Vee Dietitian for a 10-week virtual group nutrition program teaching you how to prioritize your health, gain more energy, and boost confidence. BEGIN is not a diet. BEGIN is a plan to help with lifelong wellness. Receive positive encouragement and the necessary tools to tackle the most important part of you there is – your health.

7 Group Virtual Sessions

Virtual meetings are conducted through our safe and secure Healthie platform
Individual sessions – (1) 60 minute and (2) 30 minute sessions
Group sessions – 30 minutes long
Recipe demonstration with each group session.


Begin 4 Families
A healthy lifestyle program for the entire family!


Are you looking to improve the health and wellness of your family? Now’s the time to begin your healthier lifestyle journey. Join our team of Hy-Vee Dietitians for a 4-week virtual group nutrition program teaching you and your family how to prioritize your health, find balance at every meal and snack, foster healthy relationships with food, and improve the quality and quantity of the family meals in your home.

Begin 4 Families focuses on teaching you and your loved ones the fundamentals of balanced eating while truly enjoying the foods you consume! In Begin 4 Families no measurements are taken and no calories are counted. The focus is, and always will be, on consuming a colorful and balanced plate together as a family. You will receive positive encouragement and the necessary tools to create healthy habits in your home – like reduced screen time, proper hydration, fueling fun movement, and increasing your fruit and veggie consumption! Begin 4 Families is intended for parents and children alike to tune in, all information is taught in a child-friendly manner to encourage children to invest in their health at a young age.

  • How to eat in a balanced way
  • How to create a balanced and colorful plate
  • Nutrient dense grocery shopping
  • Simple sugar swaps
  • Fueling fun movement
  • Healthy hydration
  • Tips to reduce screen time

  • Quick and easy recipe ideas
