1 lbs. lean ground beef, browned and drained
1 yellow onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
2 (10.75-oz. each) cans tomato puree
2 (15-oz. each) cans Hy-Vee chili style beans in chili gravy
2 clove(s) garlic, minced
1 tbsp. Hy-Vee dried oregano
1 tbsp. Hy-Vee ground cumin
1 tbsp. Hy-Vee chili powder
1 tsp. Hy-Vee cayenne pepper
Hy-Vee salt, to taste
Hy-Vee black pepper, to taste
Hy-Vee sour cream, optional

  • Resealable plastic bag

Directions

  1. In a slow cooker, combine cooked ground beef, onion, green pepper, tomato puree, chili beans, garlic, oregano, cumin, chili powder, cayenne and season to taste with salt and black pepper. Cover and cook on LOW 8 hours.

  2. If desired, when ready to serve, fill large resealable plastic bag with sour cream. Cut corner off bag and pipe football laces on top of chili.
