    Description

Years ago, Hy-Vee Meat employees from our Blue Springs, Missouri store received a customer request: Stuff chicken with cheese and other ingredients, wrap it in bacon, and season it. This simple request sparked many ideas for our meat managers, and Chicken Grillers were born.

As other stores heard of these special meat offerings, the popularity of Chicken Grillers spread. Today, Hy-Vee is the original home of the world-famous Chicken Grillers, with 12 varieties currently available!

Hy-Vee Chicken Grillers are bacon-wrapped and filled with cheese and other add-ins for easy grilling or baking. You can purchase them in two different varieties: stuffed chicken breasts or ground patties. Either way, you're in for a treat brought to you only by Hy-Vee when you pick up or order Chicken Grillers.

    Directions

    1. First Things First: Select your flavor of Chicken Griller. There are 12 flavors in all, and these are some of our favorites.

Sante Fe: Banana and green bell peppers, bacon, and barbecue sauce.

Cowgirl™: Monterrey Jack, mushrooms, green peppers, and bacon.

Pizza: Pepperoni, mozzarella, marinara sauce, and bacon.

Ham & Cheese: Ham, Cheddar and Swiss.

Cowboy™: Hot pepper cheese and jalapeno peppers.

Hawaiian: Pineapple, brown sugar ham, and bacon.

Three Cheese: Bacon with Swiss, Cheddar, and American cheeses.

You can also get ground patties perfect for a juicy chicken burger, or stuffed chicken breasts for when you want a quick and easy meal.

    2. Grill 'Em: To grill a Chicken Griller ground patty, preheat grill to medium. If frozen, cook patties over medium heat for 23 to 27 minutes. If thawed, cook patty over medium heat for about 14 minutes. Frozen or thawed, make sure the patty reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees.

To grill a stuffed Chicken Griller chicken breast, preheat grill to medium. Grill for 20 to 30 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 170 degrees, turning every 6 to 7 minutes.

For extra grill flavor, wrap your Chicken Griller in heavy foil coated with nonstick cooking spray. A loose wrap allows cooking juices to moisten the chicken while the filling stays intact. The bacon will end up nice and golden. Unwrap near the end of cooking to add grill marks!

    3. Bake 'Em: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place Chicken Grillers in a baking dish, uncovered, and bake for 40 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 170 degrees. To crisp bacon, place Grillers under broiler for 5 minutes or until bacon is crisp.

    4. Air Fry 'Em: Preheat air fryer to 350 degrees according to manufacturer's directions. Lightly spray 2 large sheets of foil with nonstick spray. Wrap 2 Hy-Vee stuffed chicken breast grillers each in a sheet of prepared foil. Place wrapped grillers in a single layer in air fryer basket. Air-fry 18 to 20 minutes or until chicken reaches 165 degrees. Remove from air fryer. Spray air fryer basket with nonstick spray. Carefully unwrap chicken grillers. Return chicken grillers to air fryer basket. Air-fry 4 to 5 minutes or until bacon is crisp.
