Employee Discount Benefit Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Who is eligible to participate?
A: This benefit is available to all active full-time, regular-time and part-time employees of Hy-Vee, Inc., and its subsidiaries. The benefit begins after 30 days of employment with the company.
Q: I'm an active employee of Hy-Vee and/or one of its subsidiaries. How do I participate in this program?
Log in to your Hy-Vee Account on www.hy-vee.com
. Don't have a Hy-Vee Account? You will need to create one on that same page.
Once logged in, choose My Account from the drop-down menu.
Under My Account, click Fuel Saver + Perks to register your Fuel Saver + Perks card. Already registered your Fuel Saver + Perks card? Proceed to Step 4. Don't have a Fuel Saver + Perks card? Pick up a card at your Hy-Vee store.
Once you have successfully registered your Fuel Saver + Perks card, scroll down the page until you see the “Employee Discount” section. Click “Link Employee Account” and follow the directions on the screen to enter your Huddle login information. Don't have a Huddle account? Reach out to your HR Manager for assistance.
Now you are ready to shop! Simply show your Fuel Saver + Perks card at checkout to use your employee discount benefit, starting Dec. 16, 2019. We encourage you to download the Hy-Vee Aisles Online app for an even easier digital experience using your Fuel Saver + Perks card.
Q: What happens if I leave Hy-Vee?
A: If you are no longer an employee of Hy-Vee, your discount will be immediately disabled.
Activation and Card Management
Q: Will family members also get a discount?
A: You will have the option to give up to one guest access to your discount. Your guest does not have to be a family member but will be required to share the same household address. Instructions for adding a guest will be found when logging into your Hy-Vee account.
Q: How do I know that my employee discount has been activated?
A: During activation, you will receive a confirmation message that you have successfully been enrolled. Additionally, the digital Fuel Saver + Perks® card color within the Hy-Vee Aisles Online app will change from black to red.
Q: What if I forgot my Huddle login when trying to link my accounts?
A: Use the “Forgot Password?” link on the Huddle login page to reset your account.
Q: I lost or damaged my Fuel Saver + Perks® card. What do I do?
A: Pick up a replacement card at your local Hy-Vee and update your account online. Or you can call our Hy-Vee Customer Care department at (800) 232-2580 to transfer your card information to the replacement card.
Participation and Usage
Q: What discounts am I eligible for as part of the Employee Discount Benefit?
A: As a Hy-Vee or Hy-Vee, Inc. subsidiary employee, you can save 10% off your in-store Hy-Vee purchases and 20% off dine-in orders at any Hy-Vee-owned Wahlburgers. (Some exclusions may apply.)
Q: Are there any items that my discount benefit will not be applied to?
A: Yes, some restrictions apply. These restrictions include, but are not limited to, alcohol, lottery tickets, fuel, tobacco, money orders, money transfers, prepaid debit cards, gift cards, postage, dry cleaning services, pharmacy transactions, DSW shoe purchases, and Mealtime to Go orders. Q: How frequently can I use my Employee Discount Benefit?
A: You can use your discount benefit as often as you shop at Hy-Vee or dine in at one of our Wahlburgers locations. (To receive the discount on dine-in orders at our Hy-Vee Wahlburgers locations, you will need to have your card registered within the Hy-Vee Aisles Online app.)
Q: How do I use the discount when shopping at Hy-Vee stores?
A: Simply swipe your Fuel Saver + Perks card, or show the cashier your registered card on the Hy-Vee Aisles Online mobile app.
Q: How do I use the discount when dining at a Market Grille Express or Hy-Vee-owned Wahlburgers location?
A: These locations will require you to show that you have your Fuel Saver + Perks card registered on the Hy-Vee Aisles Online mobile app. If the employee discount benefit is digitally activated, your Fuel Saver + Perks card color within the app will be red.
Q: On restaurant purchases, is the discount just applied to the employee's meal or is it the entire check? What about Wahlburgers apparel purchases?
A: The 20% discount will be applied to the entire check as long as it contains the employee's meal and the employee shows his/her registered digital Fuel Saver + Perks card on the Hy-Vee Aisles Online app. For merchandise purchases at Hy-Vee-owned Wahlburgers locations, the 20% discount will apply as long as the employee is making the purchase and again shows his/her digital Fuel Saver + Perks card on the Hy-Vee Aisles Online app.
Q: Can I share my discount and card?
A: The discount is a benefit for Hy-Vee employees and their designated registered guest. Sharing of this discount with anyone other than your designated registered guest is prohibited and could result in removal from the program.
Q: If I've linked my Fuel Saver + Perks® card with another cardholder's Fuel Saver + Perks® card, is that cardholder automatically my guest?
A: No. You will need to designate a guest to receive your employee discount through your hy-vee.com account.
Q: How do I know my discount was applied?
A: You'll see the discount reflected on your receipt.
Q: What if I forgot to swipe my Fuel Saver + Perks® card or present my digital card at checkout?
A: You must remember to present your card to receive the discount. Discounts will not be given retroactively.
Q: Is this a companywide program?
A: Yes. The guidelines and policies set forth are applicable across the entire company as well as all Hy-Vee locations.
Q: By participating in the Employee Discount Benefit, will I receive additional marketing materials?
A: By participating, you will be enrolled in an email list for communication purposes. You can choose to opt-out of any email communication.
Q: By participating, how will Hy-Vee use my data?
