FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CHEROKEE, IA – Officials with Hy-Vee, Inc. announced today that the Hy-Vee Drugstore in Cherokee will merge with the company’s Hy-Vee supermarket, effective April 29.

Tim Stupka, Assistant Vice President, Operations for Hy-Vee’s Northwest District, said the move will allow Hy-Vee to provide better service and expanded hours for pharmacy customers in Cherokee.

“Having all our pharmacists together at the same location creates a more efficient operation and enables us to add Sunday hours, a service customers have requested,” Stupka said.

He noted that all Hy-Vee Drugstore employees will transfer to Hy-Vee or to the store’s clinic pharmacy in Marcus, which will remain open. When the merger takes effect on Monday, April 29, the new Hy-Vee pharmacy hours will be 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
