Charlyn Fargo Ware

Charlyn Fargo Ware, MS, RD, LDN, received a Master of Science degree in dietetics from Eastern Illinois University and completed her internship at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville, Illinois. She has two bachelor degrees from the University of Illinois, Champaign, in food and agricultural communications. Charlyn grew up on a central Illinois farm and was the food and agribusiness writer for the State Journal-Register for 27 years. She also is an adjunct instructor at Lincoln Community College where she teaches baking, nutrition and sanitation classes. Charlyn is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly the American Dietetic Association), Illinois Dietetic Association and the Capital Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and is certified in Adult Weight Management.

Charlyn’s special interests include weight management, diabetes and teaching healthy cooking classes. Charlyn is passionate about culinary nutrition and enjoys recipe modification. Charlyn’s goal is to promote a higher quality of life to Hy-Vee customers, community members and organizations and employees. It is Charlyn’s goal to provide evidence-based nutritional information to customers in order to encourage an active, healthy lifestyle. Charlyn wants to share the message with the community that eating healthy is enjoyable and positively tasteful.
