Chef Amanda started her Hy-Vee career in 2005. She attended culinary school at Kirkwood Community College. At school she worked at Hotel Kirkwood in the Class Act restaurant as a cook and as a waitress. While in school she also worked at a chocolate factory in Iowa City. She worked in quality assurance and helped create new recipes for companies such as Harry and David. Upon graduating from culinary school on the dean’s list, she accepted a job as assistant catering manager at Iowa City Hy-Vee #2. She helped cater many high-profile events. Now in West Des Moines, Amanda is excited to work with food every day and share all her knowledge and experience with our customers.
