Description

Bite into a juicy Jamaican-inspired sandwich with amazing flavor. We used jerk seasoning to bring the heat and fresh pineapple to bring the sweet.

2 ½ tbsp.jerk seasoning
4(4-oz.) boneless top loin pork chops, 1/2-inch thick
4 tsp.Hy-Vee canola oil, divided
4fresh pineapple slices
4Hy-Vee Bakery Hy-Waiian buns, split and toasted
4bibb lettuce leaves
1 c.Hy-Vee fresh mango salsa

  • Meat thermometer

Directions

  1. Preheat a gas or charcoal grill with a greased grill rack for direct cooking over medium heat acording to manufacturer's directions. 

  2. Pat pork chops dry with paper towels. Rub chops with 2 teaspoons canola oil. Sprinkle and rub jerk seasoning on each side of pork chops. Let stand at room temperature for 15 minutes.

  3. Grill pork chops for 8 to 12 minutes or until done (145 degrees), turning halfway through. Brush pineapple with remaining 2 teaspoons oil; grill about 6 minutes or until charred, turning halfway through. 

  4. Serve pork chops in buns with lettuce and topped with pineapple slices and salsa.
