Muscatine Hy-Vee FREE Cholesterol Screenings will take place Saturday, February 8, from 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Screenings are on a first come, first serve basis the day of the event - there is no pre-registration. For accurate results, you must fast 9-12 hours prior to the screening time. This means no food or beverages other than water. Drinking water is encouraged, so you are hydrated. The screenings include collecting a blood sample from a finger prick, which will be used to determine your cholesterol levels, triglycerides and glucose levels. Resting blood pressure will be taken and measurements of height, weight, waist measurement, body mass index (BMI) and %body fat will be obtained. Screenings typically last 20 minutes and results are provided as a part of the screening process.
