All Hy-Vee pharmacy locations have drug take back receptacles that allow customers to safely dispose of unused, unwanted or expired medications, including controlled substances.
Proper disposal of medications helps avoid potential abuse and environmental pollution. Patient privacy will be protected and the medications properly destroyed.

Hy-Vee can now accept medications under the following guidelines:
- All prescriptions, over-the-counter and pet medications.
- Liquid medications (4 ounces or less) should be wrapped in a paper towel and placed in a leak-proof bag.
