Junior Chef: Ages 7-10

Location: Meeting Room
Type: Kids

Designed to prepare children for introduction into the kitchen. Participants will learn how to act safe and responsibly in a kitchen and use and be able to identify tools and equipment used in the kitchen. Children will learn basics of reading recipes, measuring and terminology. Class length will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Cost is $15.00 per session per child. Includes a recipe to be taken home and shared with the family! Area of emphasis: Kitchen Safety: what pieces of equipment to use and what not to use. Food Safety: develop an understanding of where food comes from and how it reaches our dinner tables. Meal Planning: what do we look for when we shop for our groceries? Food Preparation: time to cook!
