Demi Chef: Ages 11-14

Designed as an introduction to kitchen preparation for children ages 11-14. Students will learn how to act responsibly with equipment, introduction to terminology used in the kitchen while allowing participants to actively engage in the process of preparing meals. Recipe preparation and methods will be a primary focus for the group. Class length will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Cost is $18.00 per session per child. Includes a recipe to be taken home and shared with the family. Area of emphasis: Kitchen Safety: what pieces of equipment to use and what not to use. Food Safety: develop an understanding of where food comes from and how it reaches our dinner tables. Meal Planning: what do we look for when we shop for our groceries? Food Preparation: time to cook!

We will be making Turkey Cubano Sandwiches, Firecracker Fruit Salad and No Bake Cookies!
