April is Defeat Diabetes Awareness Month! Our Dietitian will be providing FREE A1C screenings every 15 minutes from 8 a.m. to noon. We will be hanging out in the Hy-Vee Healthy You Mobile, and if you are waiting for your screening, you can hop inside to shop! Along with your A1C results, you'll walk away with a goodie bag and education provided by our Dietitian.
What is an A1C Screening?
Hemoglobin A1C is a blood test that individuals living with diabetes use to manage their blood glucose levels. Hemoglobin A1C helps provide information about that individual's average levels of blood glucose over a 2-3 month period. The screening consists of a small finger prick with on the spot results. You are not required to fast for the screening.
