Ice cream cones are good for more than just filling with ice cream. Use them to make these adorable Christmas cupcakes.
Servings and Ingredients
|1 (18.25 oz) box Hy-Vee white cake mix|
|3 egg whites|
|½ c. Hy-Vee vegetable oil|
|1 ¼ c. water|
|Clear sanding sugar, as needed|
|2 (16 oz each) containers Hy-Vee creamy white frosting, divided|
|Green food coloring, as needed|
|24 sugar ice cream cones|
|Cake decorating pearls|
Things To Grab
- Line muffin pans with cupcake liners. Prepare cake mix with egg whites, vegetable oil and water; bake cupcakes according to package directions; cool completely.
- Place clear sanding sugar in a small saucer; set aside.
Spread cupcake tops with frosting, then roll in clear sanding sugar. Mix remaining frosting with food coloring to reach desired shade of green.
Place an ice cream cone on top of each cupcake. Fill decorating bag fitted with small star tip with green frosting. Cover ice cream cone with frosting making a tree. Finish with edible pearls.
