    2 oz. simple syrup
    1 oz. fresh lemon juice
    2-inch vanilla bean, plus additional for garnish
    Fresh basil, for garnish

    Directions

    1. Add bourbon, simple syrup, and fresh lemon juice to cocktail shaker. Split vanilla bean. Scrape seeds into cocktail shaker; add bean pod and 1/2 cup ice cubes. 

    2. Cover and shake until well combined and chilled. Strain into an 8-oz. ice-filled glass. Garnish with fresh basil and vanilla bean pod.
