    Make your festive 4th of July cocktails ahead of time. Just blend and keep in the freezer or an ice-packed cooler. Your slushies will stay cold but not completely frozen thanks to the alcohol.

    4 c. ice
    4 oz. Row vodka
    4 oz. coconut-flavored rum
    4 oz. no-sugar-added pineapple juice
    2 oz. fresh lime juice
    Blue Freezer Cocktail
    4 c. ice
    6 oz. Row vodka
    5 oz. blue curacao
    5 oz. no-sugar-added pineapple juice
    Optional Garnishes
    Red coarse sanding sugar
    Hy-Vee maraschino cherries

    • 2 large resealable plastic bags
    • 8 large margarita glasses
    • Shallow dish

    Directions

    1. For White Freezer Cocktails: Add ice, vodka, coconut-flavored rum, pineapple juice, and lime juice to a large blender. Blend until smooth. Pour cocktail into a large resealable plastic bag. Freeze until ready to serve.

    2. For Blue Freezer Cocktails: Add ice, vodka, blue curacao and pineapple juice to a large blender. Blend until smooth. Pour cocktail into a large resealable plastic bag. Freeze until ready to serve.

    3. Remove cocktails from freezer. Gently massage bag to break up any large pieces. Run a pineapple wedge along the rims of large margarita glasses; immediately dip in red sanding sugar; set aside.

    4. Cut one edge of the resealable plastic bag and pipe White Freezer Cocktail, Blue Freezer Cocktail or a combination of the two, into prepared glasses. Garnish with a maraschino cherry, if desired. Serve immediately.
