    1 c. Hy-Vee shortening
    1 c. Hy-Vee granulated sugar
    1 c. packed Hy-Vee brown sugar
    2 Hy-Vee large eggs
    1 tsp. Hy-Vee vanilla extract
    1 ½ c. Hy-Vee all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. Hy-Vee baking soda
    1 tsp. Hy-Vee ground cinnamon
    ¼ tsp. ground nutmeg
    1 tsp. Hy-Vee salt, optional
    3 c. Hy-Vee old fashioned oats
    1 c. Hy-Vee raisins

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease cookie sheet; set aside.
    2. Beat shortening and sugars until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
    3. Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and 1 tsp salt, if desired, mix well. Add to shortening mixture, mix well. Stir in oats and raisins, mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheet.
    4. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Let stand 1 minute before removing to racks to cool.
