The Mont Brie Grilled Cheese (Get Cooking)
Servings and Ingredients
|1/2 to 3/4 c. tart cherry jam|
|½ tsp.||finely minced fresh thyme|
|3 oz.||pancetta, sliced into 8 slices|
|4||unglazed plain cake donuts, cut in half|
|12 oz.||triple crème brie, sliced|
|12 oz.||thinly sliced smoked black forest ham|
|8||very thin green apple slices|
- Combine jam and thyme in a small bowl; set aside.
- Heat a skillet or sauté pan over medium heat. Add 8 pancetta slices and cook until crispy. Remove from pan, reserving pancetta grease and drain on a paper towel lined place.
- Melt butter in the pan and add 4 donut halves, cut side down. Top each donut half with 1/8 of Brie slices, ¼ of the smoked black forest ham, 2 green apple slices, 1 to 2 tablespoons cherry jam, 2 slices crispy pancetta, another 1/8 of Brie slices, and top half of donut (flat side up). Grill until donut is golden and cheese is melted, turning once during grilling.
- If the pan is oven safe, place the pan in a 375-degree oven to heat through, if desired.
