    QuantityIngredientAdd
1 Hy-Vee Bakery jalapeno and cheddar loaf
    ½ lbs. 90%-lean ground beef
    1 small yellow onion, chopped
    2 tbsp. Hy-Vee 30% reduced-sodium taco seasoning
¼ c. Hy-Vee thick and chunky medium salsa
8 oz. Rustic Red Cheddar cheese, shredded

    Things To Grab

    • Large baking sheet
    • Aluminum foil
    • Serrated knife
    • Small skillet

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil, set aside. Cut bread into 1-inch diamonds, cutting within 1-inch of loaf bottom. Place bread on prepared baking sheet; set aside.

    2. Heat a small skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and onions. Sauté until beef is no longer pink (165 degrees) and onions are tender, about 8 minutes. Stir in taco seasoning and salsa. Remove from heat and cool slightly.

    3. Tuck half of cheese in between the bread pieces, top with meat mixture, and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake for 15 minutes, or until bread is toasted and cheese has melted.

    4. If desired, sprinkle loaf with cilantro, and serve with salsa, guacamole, and sour cream.
